Lets Talk Shoes.

I bet all of you ladies are creating your Christmas wish list! It is that time of year after all!! Perfect time for some shoe talk... Ya'll know I love my shoes!!

Lets start with some interesting history on heels, I'm sure we all have figured heels have been around for a while.. I mean come on, all those princesses and queens had to have rocked some wicked kicks, even back then... right?? OF COURSE!! In fact heels were often worn in vogue by both sexes! Quite interesting to think of men in heels, but for them this was a frequently worn fashion statement, and completely normal for those with rank.

Heels are depicted in ancient Egypt murals! But the earliest heels have been recorded was during the Hellinic times (ancient Greece). In both instances these elevated shoes were worn by both men and women. Heels really because more popular in later years. Around the 1500's when "many have argued heels were invented, despite the evidence of them in previous centuries. They suggested that heels originated in 1533 when Catherine de' medici wore heels made in Florence, Italy. To he wedding, where she married the duke of Orleans, Henry II of France.

Think Louis Vuitton's, are the first "Louis heels"?? Guess again!! Louis XIV of France, had a shoemaker by the name of Nicholas Lestage design heels around 1660. These heels became very popular among the ladies. These outward tapered, concave curved heels were referred to as "Louis heels" or "Pompadour heels" not after the hairstyle silly girls, but as in Madame de' pompadour (a.k.a Jeanne Antoinette, before getting her title, from the king who purchased marquisate of pompadour and gave the estate, its coat-of-arms and its title to her. So she was able to be present in court.) who often wore this style of heel quite often.

Come on... you know you want a pair ;)

Well, we have evolved quite a bit since the days of the "pompadour heel" with our 1 inch platform heels now. But, I can only hope I have given you a deeper respect for your heels. :) Remember the above while you are crying inside from the pain your feeling, because you decided to wear YOUR heels... to the mall... ;)

Make your own bronzer! DIY special

I'm so excited to share this with you guys!! This is a great way to save money, not to mention its great for your skin! Cinnamon is used in many skin treatments! Cinnamon and petroleum jelly can be used to sooth itchy skin and acne. Cinnamon also causes a plumping action with the skin due the minor swelling it causes which can help diminish wrinkles. Cinnamon has been used in lip glosses to help plup lips and make them look fuller. With that said, here's how you do it!!

Your going to need
 *1/2 tsp of ground nutmeg
 *1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
 *1/2 tsp of cocoa powder

Mix the three together in a small bowl. If you are looking for a darker bronzer add more cocoa powder to get your desired darkness.

I used an empty makeup compact to put my bronzer in.

Add a small amount of alcohol (70%)just enough to turn powder mixture into a paste. Spread evenly in the compact, and leave to dry overnight!

It's as simple as that!! :) I hope you all give this a try. I'd love to hear from you if you do!

pin up, make up

Firecracker red lips, luxurious eye shadow, winged eyeliner, defined eyebrows pin up girl are so inspirational with their makeup! So many people have been influenced by their style, hair, makeup and much more!

To start off this look I used a mouse foundation, with a very very light bronzer (its practically a foundation) with minimal shimmer to keep the matte look. Take a matte blush and apply it to the apples of your cheeks.

For the eyes I used a primer on my lid then covered my whole lid with a beige eyeshadow. On top of the beige I applied an off white shadow. Going from the outer corner in I took a dark pewter color and applied it to the crease of the eye lid. Finish off with winged liquid eyeliner and your favorite mascara.

Polish off the look with a matte red lipstick!! Don't forget to get the access off of your lips! I do this by quickly closing my mouth on a napkin! It will keep you from smearing, and getting lipstick on your teeth!! ;)

I hope you give this a try!! Its such a cute look!! Check in soon!! xo

fringe your old tshirts this summer!!

Try this edgy look this summer! Im in love with it. It reminds me of the 70's and 90's grunge looks, and its simple to create!!

Find an old plain t shirt to cut up!! Nothing special about this shirt, just an old shirt from work so its perfect!! plus.... I think its ugly.... hahah

Decide where you are going to cut up to! On my t shirt I'm going to cut where I am pointing!! You can do yours lower or higher it is all up to you!!

I'm keeping the front of the shirt on the back to get the cutting done faster! Also I'm cutting the strips about the width of my thumb. Keep in mind you will stretch these out and they will get thinner! Cut yours to you liking.

Start in the middle and finish one side and then the other. Stretch your fringe out, knot the bottom, and then cut the hem off the bottom (under the knot).

You can do WHATEVER you want to the top!! Leave it the way it is, shorten the sleeves,  swoop neck with sleeves, or do a tank top with a swoop neck, like I did!  It's all up to you!!! :)

Thanks for reading I hope you try this out!! :) Check in soon for more fun posts!! comments, questions, requests are always welcome below!!

Bad Girl Blues

Im sure most of you have heard the song that inspired this post today. "Bad" by the cab, has been stuck in my head 24/7!! So I came up with this cute, club look. Get a little daring with your makeup!! ;)

Step one of this look, is to apply your foundation, and whatever else you use to your face as usual! Pick up a light brown shadow on your eye shadow brush and apply it all over the eyelid. Then add a dark grey to the crease and outer corner of your eye! :)

Next, I used war paints blue liquid eyeliner, same brand as the green eyeliner from my st. patty's day post. I did a cat eye but with a thicker line then i took the black and did a normal sized cat eye in the center of the blue!

TTAAAAADDAAA!! :D

Its that simple!!

until next time!! <3 comment, questions, requests, etc. beloww xox
